Here’s the basic formula to set proper expectations:

1. Create a specific deliverable or result.
2. Set a clear time frame or timeline for completion.
3. Define who will do what.
4. Agree how you both will know the result has been met.

When proper expectations are created then met, you generate engagement, trust and you boost morale because you and your employees are getting work done to agreed upon standards.
